Our students had so much fun at yesterday’s fundraiser reward party! 🎉 They got to pick out and help stuff their very own reading buddy — and the creativity was off the charts! From cat-unicorns to axolotls, our new furry (and scaly!) friends are already rocking their outfits and getting plenty of snuggles. 🐱🦄🐸💖

Welcome back, Officer Wright! 🎉 We’re so glad to have you back with us after a 6-week break recovering from a broken foot. The Wolfpack missed you!

PD days = growth days! 💡✨ Our Wellford Academy teachers spent today’s PD day collaborating with our literacy and math coaches, hearing from our MTSS Coordinator on how to best support students during intervention, and learning new strategies from our Behavior Specialist. Always growing, always learning—because our Wolfpack students deserve the best! 🐾

A touchdown for teamwork! 🏈 ❤️ Wednesday our teachers enjoyed a football-themed Chat & Chew thanks to 4th grade! It was the perfect opportunity to catch up with colleagues after getting our school year started.

🌎☀️🌙 Mrs. Schmidt and Mrs. Johnson’s K5 students had a special visit from Ms. Poole with the Watershed Program! Students explored what causes day and night, learned about the changing seasons, and even met Chubbs McGrubb 🐸 while discovering how a tadpole grows into a frog. What an exciting day of hands-on learning! 💡✨

✨📖 Mrs. Benoit’s class has been shining a light on poetry! Students explored how stanzas build on one another and contribute to the overall structure of a poem. We love seeing our Wolfpack writers dig deeper into reading and writing! 🐺❤️🖤

🌟 Project Lead the Way Spotlight 🌟

Our 1st–5th grade students (and teachers!) have been busy exploring STEM in fun and creative ways:
✅ Kicked things off with Growth Mindset lessons, inspired by Kid President, and “built each other up” with positive words and teamwork.
✅ Took on an engineering design challenge to see which team could build the tallest tower sturdy enough to hold… a stick of butter! 🧈
✅ Became scientists while making butter from heavy cream, observing how properties of matter can change from liquid ➡️ solid ➡️ liquid again. Students also connected their discoveries to how butter was made long ago.
✅ And of course, the soundtrack of the week? 🎶 Lots of singing and dancing to “Build Me Up Buttercup” while designing, testing, and laughing together.

Way to go, Wolfpack! 🐾💡 We love seeing our students problem-solve, create, and grow through PLTW!

Rock Your School is all about coming together as a community to make our school even better — and this year, we truly rocked it!

Thanks to a generous donation from Lowe’s of Spartanburg, every student got to plant a bulb — that’s 650 bulbs in total! 🌱

In the spring, our campus will be blooming with beautiful tulips and daffodils for everyone to see and enjoy. 🌼

Our students loved getting their hands dirty and planting their bulbs to go along with this year’s theme, “Build Me Up Buttercup,” as we continue to build up our school and each other.

📚✨ Exciting news for Mrs. Williamson’s class! Thanks to a DonorsChoose project, students are enjoying brand-new furniture and reading materials. 🪑📖 These fresh resources are helping create a cozy and engaging space where our Wolfpack readers can grow and thrive! ❤️🐺

🔺🔵⭐ Ms. Watson’s friends are getting a head start on learning their shapes! From circles to squares, they’re building a strong foundation for math while having fun along the way. 🐺❤️

🐾🚦 Our 5th grade “Paw Patrol” Safety Team gathered for their monthly Lunch & Learn with Mrs. Miller, Ms. Benson, and Mrs. Fortenberry! Students enjoyed lunch together while reviewing patrol guidelines, asking thoughtful questions, and learning how to be strong leaders for the Wellford Wolfpack. ❤️🐺

📢 Mrs. Gregory’s class welcomed Mrs. Hyatt today for an important lesson on making safe and healthy choices! 🌟 Students are learning how to live drug-free lives as we get ready for Red Ribbon Week coming later this month. ❤️🐺

🎩💛 The Wolfpack showed up big for Kidz in Lids! Students rocked their hats today to support childhood cancer awareness while making a difference together. 🐺❤️

🎸🐺 The Wolfpack rocked the house today for Rock Your School Day! From rockstar outfits to high-energy learning, our students proved they’re ready to shine on and off the stage. ⭐️🤘

🍎 Ms. Cielinski’s class has been busy learning all about apples! Students had the chance to taste red, yellow, and green apples, then share their favorites. Afterward, they worked together to graph the results as a class. A fun (and tasty!) way to combine learning with hands-on exploration! 📊🍏🍎💛

🚂✨ Ms. Benson’s 5th graders wrapped up their study of the Transcontinental Railroad with a “virtual field trip”! Using Google Slides, they explored videos, answered questions, and even traveled to key landmarks through Google Earth. A fun way to bring history to life! 🌎📚
