We kicked off with a “Wacky Weather” STEAM Showcase last Friday, where students helped a worried Wesley the Wolf 🐺 problem-solve and prepare for extreme weather! 🌪️☀️❄️
The fun didn’t stop there! Our annual STEAM Family Night brought families together for hands-on learning with over 20 interactive STEAM stations! 🧪💡🤖 Thanks to Duke Energy and our amazing families for making it an unforgettable night filled with coding robots, fingerprint investigations, roller coaster engineering, and so much more! 🎢🔍🎮
The smiles, laughter, and curiosity were truly contagious! ❤️💡 We love seeing our Wolfpack explore, create, and discover through STEAM!

Wesley the Wolf was very concerned when he realized we didn’t have a severe weather plan—so our students jumped into action! Each grade level became weather experts, researching different severe weather events and creating safety plans:

🌪️ 1st Grade: Tornadoes (with exciting rotations!)
❄️ 2nd Grade: Blizzards
🌀 3rd Grade: Hurricanes
🌍 4th Grade: Earthquakes
🔥 5th Grade: Wildfires
To take learning to the next level, we used AI technology to generate custom reading comprehension passages and math problems connected to each weather pattern. Hands-on STEM learning + real-world problem-solving = one epic showcase!

Our 2nd graders had an out-of-this-world adventure at the Lincoln Science Center & Planetarium on Thursday! They explored hands-on exhibits, discovered the wonders of space, and experienced an exciting planetarium show. After a day of learning and fun, they enjoyed a delicious lunch at Fuddruckers! What a fantastic field trip full of curiosity and discovery! ✨🚀🌎

🎶🎻 On Tuesday our 4th graders had an unforgettable musical experience at Twichell Auditorium at Converse College! They attended a mesmerizing orchestra concert, where they got to hear beautiful live music and learn about different instruments. This trip was a wonderful opportunity to connect classroom learning with the magic of the performing arts! 🎼✨
