Today was full of smiles, cheers, and celebration as our first graders were honored at Awards Day for their hard work and accomplishments this year! 🏅📚 From shining readers to kind classmates, we are so proud of all they’ve achieved!
After the ceremony, it was time to party! 🎈Classrooms were buzzing with laughter, games, treats, and sweet memories as students celebrated the end of an amazing school year with their friends and teachers. ❤️

🚀 Our 1st–5th grade students have been buzzing with STEM excitement! 🧠🐝
💥 3rd–5th graders worked in teams to strengthen communication, review the engineering design process, and tackle state test prep using fun gamification strategies. They also explored constraints and how they impact design thinking!
🐝 1st and 2nd graders dove into team-building by learning how honeybee colonies work together. They communicated using sound and light, and celebrated their learning with sweet ice cream treats and creative LEGO builds! 🍦🧱
🔬 As the year wraps up, students are already looking forward to next year’s PLTW modules and growing their problem-solving skills even more. Our 5th graders are especially excited for STEM classes in middle school!
❤️ We're so thankful our district provides opportunities that spark curiosity and a love for science, technology, engineering, and math here at Wellford Academy!

Our Girls on the Run club wrapped up their final practice of the season, and we couldn’t be more proud of these amazing girls! 💪👟 They’ve shown dedication, strength, and so much heart this semester — building confidence, friendships, and a love for running. 🏃♀️❤️
Now they’re ready to run into summer stronger than ever! ☀️💥 Way to go, girls!
🐥Chick Update!🐥
Out of the 12 eggs we started with, 9 chicks have successfully hatched and are now settling into their temporary box home. On Friday, they’ll head back to Clemson and the 4-H program. We’re so grateful for the opportunity to partner with Clemson 4-H and witness the wonder of life as our students watched the chicks grow and hatch! 🐣🐺💕
🌞 Picnic with a Pal is this Friday, May 16! 🧺
We’re excited to welcome families to join their children during their regular lunchtime for a special outdoor picnic! 🐾 Flyers with details were sent home earlier.

Our students walked in to a big surprise this morning—our eggs are hatching🐣 The baby chicks are on the move, and we couldn’t be more egg-cited to welcome them into the world!🐥
🍓 First Grade Fun at Strawberry Hill! 🍓
Our first graders had a berry sweet time on their field trip to Strawberry Hill this Friday! They learned all about what it takes to grow strawberries—from planting to harvesting—and even got to pick two juicy strawberries to taste right from the field! 🍓🌱
The day ended with a delicious treat of Strawberry Hill’s famous ice cream 🍦 and a basket of fresh strawberries to take home. What a fun and flavorful way to learn!

🌸 Muffins with Mom K4 Performance 🌸
This morning was extra sweet at Wellford Academy as our K4 students kicked off the day with a heartwarming performance for their moms! 💕 They sang adorable songs, shared big smiles, and showed off all they’ve learned. After the show, families enjoyed a special Muffins with Mom breakfast, took precious photos, and students proudly gave their moms a handmade gift.
We loved seeing so many happy faces and creating memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you to all the moms and mother figures who joined us—we hope you felt the love! 💐🧁📸
