It's National IT Professionals Day and we couldn't let the day go by without sending a BIG thank you to our very own Hailey Owens! She is worth celebrating every day, and we are so grateful for her dedicated service to our school.

🚀 We have been working hard to publish our first book in first grade this year! 📕 Students worked on planning their story using a graphic organizer, writing their story in a book and editing their story to make it reader ready!! We enjoyed having special guests from around the school visit us to listen to our published books. 📚
Mrs. Millan’s fifth graders have been learning about the building blocks and structures of matter. 🌆 In correlation with our lesson on atoms, molecules, and compounds, we practiced identifying elements and reading periodic tables to identify the atoms being combined. 🧬 To bring the lesson to life we built compounds with marshmallows to represent atoms that are chemically bonded.

STUFF’D PALS READING BUDDIES are coming to our school THIS FALL!!!! DON’T MISS OUT!
Reading Buddies are 16” high-quality, eco-friendly stuffed animals that help students develop a love of reading! Older students can practice reading to their Reading Buddy each night, while younger students can cuddle up with their Reading Buddy as they read along with family members.
Reading Buddies, along with outfits and other awesome rewards, can be earned by participating in our upcoming Stuff’d Pals Buddy-a-thon FUN-draiser!! Qualifying students will get to select and help build the buddy of their choice at our awesome Stuff’d Pals Stuffing Party, taking place DURING SCHOOL in Oct!! Full details coming home TUESDAY!

🌴 Last week, Mrs. Clark’s class read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom! Always a kindergarten favorite and a fun way to introduce the alphabet! Students learned how to hold a book, read a book, we did a stem activity, and made a Chicka Chicka Boom Boom snack! 📕
