barrier island

Our 5th grade students recently embarked on an unforgettable adventure to Barrier Island—one that began before sunrise and ended long after dark. With an early 5:00 a.m. departure and a 10:00 p.m. return, the day was filled with exploration, learning, and memories that will last a lifetime.

Throughout the trip, students participated in a variety of hands-on activities designed to build teamwork, confidence, and curiosity about the natural world. They worked together during team-building games, strengthening friendships and learning the value of collaboration. One of the highlights for many students was the opportunity to catch fish, an exciting and new experience that brought science to life in a meaningful way.

For some of our students, this trip held an even deeper significance—it was their very first time seeing the ocean. Witnessing their excitement and wonder as they experienced the vastness of the sea was truly special and a powerful reminder of why opportunities like this matter so much.

We are incredibly grateful that our students were able to participate in such a meaningful and enriching experience. Trips like this expand learning beyond the classroom and create lasting impressions that support both academic and personal growth.

A special thank you goes out to the dedicated teachers and staff who made this trip possible. Their commitment, time, and care ensured that our students were safe, supported, and able to fully enjoy every moment of the day.

This Barrier Island adventure is one our students—and our school—will not soon forget.
