Fifth graders in Mrs. Collins class made their own cars. 🚙 Powered by baking soda and vinegar, they sent their cars flying down the sidewalk at RVES! 🚀

Mrs. Coons has been selected for the Discovery Education Advisory Council for the 2024-2025 school year. Discovery Education is such an amazing resource for students and educators. We are proud not only for Mrs. Coons, but that our students get to have such a valuable resource right here in our school.

✨A big CONGRATULATIONS to our Sydney Kurtycz on being named Distinguished Literacy Teacher for Spartanburg County District Five Schools. ✨Her work with transformative instruction in English Language Arts is to be commended. 📚 Great job, Mrs. Kurtycz! We are so proud of you! 🚀

Second grade hosted their annual bake shop array last week! 🧁

REMINDER! R.E.D. Week begins tomorrow!

Yesterday, we celebrated UNITY day! Orange for October, safety, kindness, acceptance, and inclusion! 🧡 We brainstormed ways to build commUNITY and went over ways to prevent bullying or how to respond if we see a friend being bullied. ⛔️

R.E.D. Week is our alternative to Red Ribbon Week. We focus on the Really Excellent Decisions our students can make. The theme days are a way to reinforce the choices they can make to improve their physical and mental well-being. The Book Character Parade will be on Friday, October 25. Thank you for partnering with us to educate our students on making healthy choices for themselves!

⭐️ When your students beg to come back and practice Math during lunch, you bring them back and practice Math during lunch! 🍕 Way to go, Rockets!!🚀

We are proud to announce our school report card grade of EXCELLENT! Way to go Rockets!!🚀

Unity Day is something that will be recognized district-wide. Please remind your students to wear orange tomorrow, Wednesday, October 16th for Unity Day. We "wear and share" orange to send a visible message of building commUNITY through kindness, acceptance, and inclusion to prevent bullying.

SECOND GRADE PARENTS
Your students will be taking COGAT this Tuesday through Thursday, October 15th - 17th. Please be sure that they come to school on time, well rested, and ready to do their best! If they need to eat breakfast, they can visit our cafe upon arrival.

Thank you for your patience as we navigate downed phone lines in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. We will update you once our phone lines have been restored.

This year at Reidville, each Ohana will be working on their own passion project. Maui chose Lids for Kids! This organization, supports childhood cancer research. To participate, please send your student to school with at least $1 and a hat on Friday, October 11th!

We were out of the building on National School Custodian Day, but that didn't stop our custodian's from showing up and getting our building cleaned and ready for school! A big thanks to our incredible custodial staff here in D5. We are thankful for you each and every day!
