We are proud to announce that the Florence Chapel Band is once again being recognized as one of the top bands in the state! They have received the “Outstanding Performance Award” for the 2023-2024 school year! The OPA is the most prestigious award that any band program can receive from the SC Band Director's Association; this is the 15th year FCMS has earned the award. Our FCMS band students performed at an exceptionally high level in all SCBDA events this year. This includes Region/All-State Band, Concert Performance Assessment, and Solo and Ensemble. Congratulations, band students! 🎺🎼🥁

On Saturday, members of the Florence Chapel Singers enjoyed a trip to Carowinds where they performed two songs for judges. They received a SUPERIOR rating from all three judges! These students have been persistently recognized for excellence and have flourished under the direction of Katelyn Ohler. She has been an incredible leader for them, and they have reached lofty heights together. We are so proud of both our students and Mrs. Ohler!

Guidance teamed up with AVID to deliver a fun-filled morning of "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" trivia to the 6th grade students at Berry Shoals Intermediate School. Questions were focused on details about Florence Chapel and Abner Creek middle schools. This helped the students learn about many different facets of their prospective schools. It was super helpful to our rising middle school students!

This week Ms. Hewitt’s students worked collaboratively to grade TRFs of other students. A TRF is a Tutorial Request Form. Students fill them out on a topic they are struggling with or confused on. Great way to get students invested in their learning!
