Ms. Scherer’s 7th grade computing class learned how to enhance pixel images with RGB hexadecimal and binary color codes this week! Students were able to showcase their skills by creating their own images. Some images made include the Clemson logo, Mario & Luigi, Minions, the and American Flag.

8th grade chorus students had a visit from the Byrnes Singers today, which is the top choir at Byrnes made up of 10-12th graders. We enjoyed hearing them sing a few pieces and learning about being in choir at the high school.

We were so happy to welcome Hannah Simpson, Education & Community Engagement Manager with Spartanburg Philharmonic, as our Wolves of the Workforce speaker today. Mrs. Simpson walked students through what it takes to create a concert; from behind-the-scenes planning to the performance night! Thank you so much for letting us learn from you, Mrs. Simpson!

Ms. Montjoy's class had a lively session working in stations to review percent change. They took multiple shots at making a basket, recording the data to see how it compared to their initial predictions—whether they were on the rise or taking a dip. The students then used this information to calculate the percent increase or decrease between their attempts and predictions. They also compared the percent increase between a 1950’s McDonald’s menu and today's menu. It was a fun and insightful way to learn!

Three Abner Creek Middle School teachers had the incredible opportunity to join the D5 Teacher Forum at the South Carolina State House for Hill Day sponsored by Palmetto State Teachers Association. It was an amazing chance to engage with lawmakers and advocate for the future of education!
