This week, 8th-grade students in the German class are exploring the vibrant traditions of Oktoberfest through a collaborative project. Oktoberfest may be rooted in Munich, but its reach is worldwide, becoming a global celebration of culture, food, and tradition.
Using WICOR strategies, students are researching various aspects of the world-famous festival, from its rich history and traditional foods to iconic clothing and music. Each group is organizing their findings into an engaging presentation using Google Slides, combining text, visuals, and creative insights. As they dive into resources, work together, and structure their work, students are not only learning about German culture but also how Oktoberfest is celebrated globally. It’s an exciting way to connect world languages and cultural events!
