They are learning how to interpret the information and are learning the importance of visually depicting data to make information easier to use as it helps us understand trends and changes in information. Mrs. Kay’s students are working with peer mentors through a reading club she created for her class. The reading club kicked off with a get to know you Venn diagram. Then, they identified text structures in passages about ice skating and enjoyed a field trip learning more about ice skating. Today, we began reading our novels while working on reading fluency and comprehension.

Writing has never been more fun! Students in Mrs. Quinby’s class enjoyed the opportunity to respond to prompts regarding the advantages and disadvantages of living with pets, all while accumulating points for their team. With We Will Write, students can vote for the best writing pieces and then analyze the literary techniques employed in those works. Winning teams are always celebrated.
